KJ AGM and new directors

Pamela Jeffries talking about the Jigalong ranger work at the AGM.

In September, KJ held its AGM in Punmu.  It was a very happy meeting. Lots of old and young people came together and talked about all the work they are doing.  Each ranger team made a presentation and the men’s and women’s leadership teams made presentations.  The meeting also heard about KJ’s financial reports.

The meeting elected six directors.  These included four new directors:  Alwyn Booth from Parnngurr, Gladys Bidu from Punmu, Elstreia Hale from Newman and Marianne Larry from Jigalong and two directors who were reappointed to represent their communities: Andrew Minyardie from Bidyadanga and Lionel Judson from Kunawarritji.

The directors elected at the AGM joined another six directors who continue their terms: Shaun Tinker from Kunawarritji, McLean Williams from Punmu, Billy Landy from Nullagine, Luke Frank from Jigalong, Clive Samson from Newman and Peter Rowlands from Parnngurr.

We want to thank all the directors who finished up in 2016 for their hard work: Ray Thomas (Longman), Ivy Bidu, Stewart Watson and Brenda Sailor. All of the directors speak up strongly for their communities, but also make sure that KJ works for all Martu people. KJ is lucky to have such a strong, happy board who work well together.
