Kunawarritji ranger team out on country
The Kunawarritji rangers began in mid-April. The enthusiastic team have been out on numerous day trips looking after country and visiting waterholes. Rangers, Winston Williams and Lewis Williams, put their great mechanical skills to use when they went out to recover a vehicle which broke down on the Jakulyukulyu trip in June.
When not out on-country the rangers have been hard at work transforming an rundown house into a ranger station. The team have cleaned up the building and will soon be installing new doors, windows, septic system and a hot water system. A shade structure is also being built from existing structural components found around the community. This will extend the outdoor space of the ranger station and enable rangers to hold outdoor meetings and BBQs.
The team is looking forward to getting out and working on-country during the remaining months of the field season.
