Learning about company law at Herbert Smith Freehills

After completing the thee day Cape to Cape walk, the Martu Leadership Program participants visited Hebert Smith Freehills law firm in Perth. Hebert Smith Freehills are friends and supporters of the Martu Leadership Program and provide pro-bono advice and workshops to the participants.
On this visit the participants explored company law.  In particular the group looked at how companies should work and be managed. They learnt about the roles of members of a company and the board of directors. They also learnt more about how meetings should be run and how resolutions are passed. James Sippe, a Herbert Smith Freehills lawyer, commented on how stimulated and engaged the participants were.  Many leadership participants are already members and directors of Martu companies so this presentation was especially valuable.
