Monitoring warru

The Parnngurr rangers together with Alicia and Jo from Parks and Wildlife have been out on country trapping and monitoring warru (black-flanked rock wallaby) and wiminyji (northern quoll) around the Yulpu and Punkulyi area.

Over the four days no wiminyji were trapped however seven warru were trapped and processed, with some having young in the pouch and at foot. This was an exciting moment for Parnngurr rangers.  More monitoring will be carried out to determine how large the population is.
