Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa (KJ) is seeking applications for the role of Ranger Coordinator with its highly successful Martu Ranger Program.
KJ operates an Indigenous ranger program with teams in each of the Martu communities of Kunawarritji, Parnngurr, Punmu and Jigalong. The Martu Ranger Program forms a key part of KJ’s ever-growing social, cultural, environmental and economic activities across the Martu Country.
The broader program aims to realise Martu aspirations for maintaining connection to country, getting back to more remote parts of traditional country, passing on knowledge and culture to younger generations and actively maintaining the health of country.
The role of a Ranger Coordinator is both challenging and highly rewarding. Being community-based, it is an important position, pivotal to the success of KJ’s programs as well as the community itself.
The successful applicant will work in a complementary way with other Ranger Coordinators and their teams, particularly if they are in the same community, program staff and managers from KJ’s other programs, as well community staff and service providers be they, visitors or residents.
