Parnngurr rangers gearing up for the field season ahead

The 2016 season for the Parnngurr rangers has started in their new ranger station.  Arriving back to the community from summer cultural obligations rangers have been going to the station every day to help with setting up for the upcoming field season.

One of the first jobs the men set about doing was to erect the shade sails over the sandy courtyard, which is the central point of the station. The women weeded this area, gave the station a clean out from the summer dust and sorted out the pantry/camping storage areas.  The men checked over & cleaned cars and started to sort out the equipment shed.

Some other plans to value add to the station are also underway.  The rangers are adding personal touches to the station, so it is a place they are happy working from while in the community.
