Empowering Martu Women Project funded

KJ has been successful is securing funding for a 3-year leadership program specifically designed for Martu women – one that aims to improve women’s leadership and participation, financial security, and safety.

The “Empowering Martu Women Project” will build upon the foundational design of the highly successful Martu Leadership Program (a program developed and delivered by KJ since 2014) with new elements and initiatives tailored specifically to address issues experienced by Martu women.

Participation in regular workshops and learning sessions will lead to the development of broad-scale understanding of mainstream law, governance, financial literacy, healthy relationships and Martu cultural knowledge.

Through this personal growth, Martu women will become equipped and empowered with skills and confidence to participate in and interact with the mainstream world and become leaders in their communities which is fundamental for a strong future for Martu women.

This project has been funded with support the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s Office for Women.
