THE OPPORTUNITY
KJ welcomes expressions of interest from people interested in working as Ranger / Community Field Coordinators in remote Western Desert Aboriginal communities.
These roles work alongside Martu Ranger teams to plan and deliver on-Country activities and Martu-led initiatives that care for Country, maintain culture and pass knowledge to future generations.
This is practical, relationship-based work in remote environments.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Depending on the community and role, Field Coordinators may:
work alongside Martu Ranger teams to plan on-Country activities;
coordinate field trips, logistics and day-to-day operations;
support teams to undertake work safely and reliably;
assist with land management and cultural activities;
support Martu priorities for Country and community; and
work across different cultural, organisational and professional settings.
ABOUT YOU
We are interested in hearing from people who:
are committed to working respectfully alongside Martu and supporting Martu leadership;
enjoy practical outdoor and field-based work;
can coordinate people and activities safely and reliably;
are adaptable and resourceful when plans change;
build strong working relationships; and
are genuinely interested in living and working in a remote community environment.
Experience in land management, ranger programs, conservation, community development, remote operations or Aboriginal organisations may be valuable.
Just as important are good judgement, practical capability, reliability and the ability to build trust.
LOCATION AND CONDITIONS
Location: Remote Western Desert Aboriginal communities
Travel / field work: Significant on-Country and remote work
Salary: Confirmed for individual vacancies
