Working on his father’s Country

KJ Martu Jigalong Ranger Grant joined our Punmu and Kunawarritji Rangers on a trip to work on his father’s Country. This was his first time working on this Country, and it felt like a homecoming for him.

During this trip, the rangers visited and monitored 19 water places, including wells along the Canning Stock Route. Along the Stock Route, the rangers engaged with curious tourists, sharing stories about their work keeping Country healthy and Martu ninti (knowledge) strong. They also checked tourist permits to ensure they had permission to travel through Martu Ngurra (Country).
